Allocasuarina littoralis – Black She-oak, River Black-oak
The Black She-oak is a medium sized fast growing casuarina with slightly pendulous thin branchlets.
Useful as a light screening plant and can grow in both inland and coastal areas. It is a relatively fast growing tree making it very suitable for planting along roadsides.
A tough and fast growing medium sized tree, suitable for both coastal and inland areas. It has fine soft needles which make a lovely sighing noise in winds. Tolerates frost down to -5.
Uses: An excellent choice for roadside plantings and for parks and farms, very good for windbreaks.
