COMMERCIAL NURSERY – NATIVE TREE
melaleuca linariifolia – Claret tops, Honey myrtle
melaleuca ‘Claret Tops’ is an eye catching plant, with beautifully coloured red new growth all year round. It is dense and compact with small leaves and the form of a conifer. As a bonus, it also has masses of small white flowers through spring, and an easy care nature. It does well in full sun to part shade, and on most soils if they are well drained. It grows to a metre and a half tall and a metre wide, and is great for low hedging and screens, and as a colour contrast for other plants.
Good for coastal gardens. Claret Tops is ideal for feature planting, contrast, coastal planting, low hedging, attracting bird and insect life and layering for effect. Dense foliage renders it perfect for low hedging, while the exciting colour changes are wonderful for contrast and layering to create a stunning backdrop. A unique and pretty addition to any garden, she is also low maintenance and drought resistant, making her hardy and happy to grow in near all conditions.
